New Zealand Artists
Karl Andrews - An artist from Wellington, New Zealand. If you are interested in art, please feel free to browse around his site to see a very diverse and free style artist in action.
"As an artist, I like to add both technical and aesthetic value to images. I have been influenced by both classical and abstract styles of painting, by artists such as Michelangelo to Robert Rauschenberg, and to the more contemporary artists, like Donato Giancola. I have been to design school although I taught myself how to paint. As Vincent Van Gogh once said, "Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together." I believe I am bringing together these small pieces of art to create something greater!"
- Karl Andrews
Bryce Brown - "Capturing the people and surroundings of the New Zealand landscape on canvas is something that will continue to motivate me for many years. What I find really fascinating is the fact that New Zealand was rapidly developing around the time that the modernists were quickly becoming the strength of European art. This is an era that is hugely influential on me and ties in
well with the paintings I will be producing in the future".
- Bryce Brown
Collette Fergus - Collette specialises in paintings that are created to fit your wants and needs,
your look, budget and of course your colour scheme. Picasso, Dali and Kandinsky have latterly influenced her style.
From the early 1990s Collette has worked in acrylics, attracted by their quick drying properties and the ability to incorporate texture.
Known for her modern, contemporary work,Collette
has two distinct styles: her serious, abstract and surrealist work, and a fun, contemporary range that includes an increasingly infamous character - Boozehag.
Collette is also a popular commission artist
with an ability to accurately interpret clients wishes.
Brent Harpur - cartoonist & humour resources specialists.
Clarry Neame - Marlborough-based artist Clarry Neame describes himself as an impressionist painter of light. He believes that when you are surrounded by nature's best that's lit with the region's superb clarity of light, you cannot do or be otherwise.
Clarry's studio is located at Hunter's Wines winery in the heart of Marlborough's awesome landscape. With its wild and rugged coastline, magnificent mountains on both sides of the valley, its rivers and lakes, and of course the beautiful waters of the magical, Marlborough Sounds, Marlborough provides Clarry with inspiration and motivation for his work.
Richard Ponder - New Zealand artist Richard Ponder has developed his art into colourful free-flowing expressionistic paintings. The recent paintings are expressive, nay explosive oil colours, with thin transparent areas and thick sculptured impasto bravado curls, sweeps and slashes. Some of the paintings are designed to be back-lit, accentuating the jewel-like thin transparent areas. Subjects of the recent paintings include landscape, cityscape, floral, urban, portraits, as well as an important pondscape series, and paintings that come directly from his soul.
Nick Puklowski - We invite you to explore our site and peruse original artwork in various media by a select group of artists from the Waikato Region of New Zealand.
Raymond Ramsay - Raymond Ramsay is a master of water colour and an accomplished artist in a range of other mediums with a professional career spanning over 50 years.
Inspired by New Zealand’s unique quality of light and dramatic landscapes, Raymond’s work captures the essence of New Zealand’s personality, landscape and history.
Ruth Anthea Vickers - Ruth is interested in creating work that evokes emotions. Her work shows her love of colour, texture and form. The diversity of mankind, the fact that every body and face is different is what fascinates Ruth. Her work is usually figurative, be that life drawing, portraits, or with some element of human interest in them.
Her work is contemporary classic in style. Ruth likes to take the classic subjects that artists have painted for centuries and paint them in a contemporary style with rich colour and dramatic layers of texture. Bold interpretation of light and shadow creates form, skilful use of line and negative shapes add interest to her work. She has worked in all mediums, but mainly uses acrylics in a semi-realistic, fairly loose, style.
